Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has ruled out seven players in advanced of Philadelphia's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. The following players won't be active on Thursday night.

QB Carson Wentz
WR Dorial-Green Beckham
WR Jordan Matthews
LB Mychal Kendricks
CB Jalen Mills
DT Mike Martin
WR Hunter Sharp

Pederson did note that Wentz and the newly acquired Green-Beckham will travel with the team to Pittsburgh. The head coach also addressed Wentz's injury status, saying the rookie is day-to-day based on his comfort level. Pederson said he thinks Wentz could play this week if he had absolutely had to, but added that Wentz likely won't be back until near the final week of preseason.

As for the players who WILL be active on Thursday night, Pederson said he expects his Eagles starters to play at least the entire first quarter and possibly few series into the second. The Eagles' offensive starters only played three snaps in Philadelphia's first preseason game last week while the defense played a couple series.

The Eagles' preseason game against the Steelers is set to kick off on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7:00 PM ET.
