Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson is active and WILL start for Philadelphia in their first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a report from John Clark. Johnson was seen warming up with the team on the field prior to the game.
This is newsworthy because Johnson is reportedly facing a 10-game suspension after reportedly testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. The suspension announcement hasn't been made official, however. And even if Johnson does get suspended, he'll still be allowed to play during the preseason.
It'll be interesting to see how the Eagles handle their right tackle situation on Thursday night.
Elsewhere, 10 Eagles players have been ruled out for the Buccaneers game, as expected. Head coach Doug Pederson already announced these injuries earlier this week. It's worth noting that Kenjon Barner, who was being evaluated for a quad injury earlier this week, is active and will play.
