Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

Domo: Word is Eagles are intrigued by LB Tavarres - Daily News
The transition from a standup rusher to an outside linebacker in Schwartz's defensive scheme isn't exactly a piece of cake. Tavarres has had his ups and downs the first two weeks of training camp. But Schwartz is intrigued by his athleticism. So is special teams coordinator Dave Fipp. "My goal on every special team is to be the first one down there,'' Tavarres said. "And not just get down there, but get down there and make the play and make the tackle.'' He'll get an opportunity to do that Thursday when the Eagles play their first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Bucs at the Linc.

Film breakdown: Eagles should run their offense through their tight ends - PhillyVoice
Like the 2016 Eagles, Pederson's Kansas City Chiefs teams lacked high-end talent at the wide receiver position, which forced him and head coach Andy Reid to get creative with their play calling to make up for that deficiency. In 2014, before the arrival of Jeremy Maclin, the Chiefs' most effective grouping was "13 personnel" (1 RB, 1 WR, 3 TEs). According to Adam Teicher of ESPN, quarterback Alex Smith's efficiency skyrocketed when using three tight end sets through the first eight games of that season before No. 3 tight end Demetrius Harris broke his ankle and was done for the season.

What Lane Johnson's suspension could mean for the OL - BGN
A look at how the Eagles could try to replace Lane Johnson.

Eagles Wake-Up Call: Lane Johnson Fallout - Birds 24/7
There is no set timetable for these types of situations, but it seems like something all parties would want resolved by the regular season. Who knows if that will actually happen, though. It will be very interesting to see if the Eagles let Johnson play in their first preseason game on Thursday night against the Buccaneers. The team could keep him in the starting unit because there’s no official suspension yet, but it’s also possible they’d want someone else to start getting first-team reps with the regular season not too far away if they believe Johnson will miss most of the year.

Lane Johnson Suspended? - Iggles Blitz
If Johnson is suspended, it will hurt the Eagles. I would think Dennis Kelly would take over at RT. He’s started there before and has been the backup there this spring and summer. I think Kelly could be a functional RT. He showed some promise last year when he practiced all week and then got on the field. When he entered a game in the middle of the contest, he struggled. Kelly started several games at RT in 2012, when some guy named Doug Pederson was a young coach on the Eagles staff.

Where could Eagles turn if Lane Johnson is suspended? -
Jeremiah Sirles, Vikings: The 6-6, 315-pound former Nebraska Cornhusker signed with the Chargers in 2014 after going undrafted. He was traded to the Vikings last year and was a backup but did not see any game action. Currently he is no better than Minnesota's fourth tackle, so he could be had in a trade. The Vikings gave up a sixth-round pick to get him, so they would want at least that back in return.

Carson Wentz can finally show what he's got in Eagles' preseason opener Thursday - CSN Philly
"It's real exciting, it's been a long time coming," Wentz said. "We've been out here (at practice) going against each other for quite some time now, so I think we're ready to face someone else, and I'm excited to play in the Linc, play in front of these fans and finally get my opportunity."

Predicting the 2017 Hall of Fame Class - Football Outsiders
Donovan McNabb's Hall of Fame case really fell apart after he was traded from Philadelphia to Washington in 2010. He could have solidified it with a strong performance away from the Eagles, but McNabb struggled in Washington, once getting benched for Rex Grossman in a two-minute situation due to "cardiovascular endurance." There was some evidence throughout his career that McNabb couldn't come through in such situations with the game on the line. Some of it was captured on video, and some of it, like his alleged puking in Super Bowl XXXIX, was not true. But there was a definite sluggishness to that Super Bowl performance, for which teammate Terrell Owens famously called McNabb out years ago.

The Journey: The Road To Recovery -
The Journey presented by AAA continues as Jordan Hicks and Wendell Smallwood take us through the recovery process as two mid-round picks with the opportunity to play as rookies in the NFL.

Holding out shouldn't be necessary for NFL stars to get paid - SB Nation
Players like Antonio Brown showed good faith in their teams. Now it’s time for their teams to do the same.
