Former Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin is scheduled to work out for the Dallas Cowboys this week, according to a report from DallasNews.com.
Boykin, 25, has been a free agent since being surprisingly released by the Carolina Panthers last month. Boykin visited the Falcons a few weeks ago but left Atlanta without a new contract.
A theory has surfaced as to why Boykin hasn't been signed yet. Pittsburgh defensive backs coach Carnell Lake reportedly told Steelers fans that Boykin has a degenerative hip condition. One source has denied that Boykin has hip issues, but it's worth noting old injury reports indicate he was dealing with a hip injury back in 2013 and 2014.
The Cowboys are obviously very familiar with Boykin due to the cornerback's time spent with Philadelphia. Boykin helped the Eagles beat the Cowboys in Week 17 of the 2013 season by picking off Kyle Orton to end the game. The Eagles clinched the NFC East crown with the win.
Boykin signing with Dallas would mean he'd get to face the team that drafted him at least twice a year.
