The 76ers selected Ben Simmons with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft last night, as expected. The extremely talented Simmons is expected to be a franchise cornerstone of Philadelphia's basketball team for years to come. It's exciting time for the city, which suddenly finds itself loaded with young talent such as Simmons, Phillies No. 1 overall draft pick Mickey Moniak, and Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz. Speaking of Wentz, the rookie quarterback welcomed Simmons to Philadelphia via Twitter.
Yo @jahlilokafor ... We gotta invite that young buck @BenSimmons25 to join us for that cheesesteak

A few other Eagles players joined in as well.

It's been a rough stretch for Philadelphia sports in recent years. (Or since the beginning of time, who are we kidding.) But these young talents such as Wentz and Simmons represent hope for the future. It'd be cool to see them all flourish together and be best friends.
