Organized team activities for the Eagles started today and Darren Sproles unexpectedly is absent from them. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the reason is that his status with the team is up in the air and he is waiting out the situation:
#Eagles received calls of trade interest for RB Darren Sproles mid-draft, sources said. He's staying away from OTAs until its sorted out

This isn't a situation filled with frustration for Darren Sproles. But he's away from the #Eagles, with his family on the West Coast now

Sproles was also not at voluntary workouts earlier in the month. There are no further details yet as to why Sproles has no-showed to the first OTA of the offseason. As Rapoport indicates, there appears to be no ill will about the situation, so Sproles could just be removing the risk of getting injured while he awaits confirmation on who he will be playing for this season. Fletcher Cox is also not at OTAs, as expected.
Update: It doesn't appear that Sproles will be going anywhere unless the offer is too good to turn down.
Pederson says he wants Darren Sproles on this football team. He says Sproles doesn’t want to be traded either. #Eagles
