Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are set to host yet another quarterback prospect on a pre-draft visit. This time it's Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch, according to a report from Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com. Lynch is one of 30 prospects scheduled to visit the team's facility in Philadelphia leading up to the 2016 NFL Draft.

News of Lynch's impending visit comes one day after it was reported top quarterback prospects Carson Wentz and Jared Goff will visit the Eagles. Dak Prescott is also scheduled to meet with the team in Philly. It's clear the Eagles are serious about drafting a passer this year.

The Eagles have shown a good deal of interest in Lynch this offseason. They interviewed him at the NFL Combine before recently meeting with him again for a private workout. Eagles scouts were spotted watching Lynch at his impressive pro day yesterday.

It's been suggested that Lynch could be the third quarterback selected in this draft class, behind Wentz and Goff in some order. Lynch isn't necessarily the most NFL ready prospect, but that doesn't really matter for the Eagles because he wouldn't be expected to play right away. Any quarterback the Eagles draft will likely sit on the bench for at least one season.

For more on Lynch, here's a scouting report via BGN draft writer Ben Natan.

Lynch would be outstanding in Philadelphia. He runs a lot of similar plays at Memphis that the Eagles run and his ability to throw on the move and get the ball downfield is heavily enticing. He needs to clean up a lot of aspects of his game and I will be interested to see how well he consistently go through his reads in the pros, but all of the ability is there for a high level starting quarterback. Of all the quarterbacks in this class, Lynch should be the first one taken based on his physical and mental tools. He is not the type of quarterback I would aggressively make moves for, but definitely would love the value of getting him at the back end of the first round or at the top of the second round.
