Carson Wentz says he studies NFL quarterbacks who are actually good ... and not Sam Bradford

New, comments

Hmm.

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Shortly after having his first press conference in Philadelphia on Thusday, new Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz joined CSN Philly for more interviewing. Naturally, Wentz was asked about the Eagles quarterback who he was drafted to replace one day: Sam Bradford. So does Wentz have any familiarity with Bradford? Has the rookie ever studied the veteran's tape? (Hat tip to Crossing Broad)

"Obviously I know he was a top pick and everything. Obviously I know he was with the Rams and everything. But I haven’t watched a ton of film on him. I watch film on guys like Brady and Manning and Rodgers and those types of things."

Wentz seems like a humble guy who isn't trying to intentionally stir the pot, but he's essentially saying:

"No, I don't watch Sam Bradford. I watch the tape of the guys who are actually good at football."

Wentz might be a little misguided here. It's important to know how to throw checkdowns, too.
