[UPDATE: 8:22 PM ET] There it is, ladies and gentlemen. The Eagles have selected their quarterback of the future. His name is Carson Wentz, he's from a land called North Dakota, and Sam Bradford is not his friend.

[UPDATE: 8:22 PM ET] PICK: THE EAGLES SELECT QB CARSON WENTZ (NORTH DAKOTA) with the No. 2 overall pick.

[UPDATE: 8:16 PM ET] PICK: THE RAMS SELECT QB JARED GOFF (CAL) with the No. 1 overall pick.

[UPDATE: 8:05 PM ET] The 2016 NFL Draft is off and running! The Los Angeles Rams are on the clock, and the Eagles are on deck.

[UPDATE: 7:45 PM ET] In this new piece from CSN Philadelphia's Reuben Frank, Doug Pederson reaffirmed this evening his desire for Sam Bradford to be the Eagles' starting quarterback in 2016:

[UPDATE: 7:30 PM ET] Looks like there could be some teams on the move, prowling for their next quarterback.

The Cowboys have an aging Tony Romo starting at quarterback, and Cleveland signed former Washington star-turner-disaSTAR Robert Griffin III as their most enticing option at the position. Both should have their eyes open for quarterback-of-the-future types, like Lynch, who BGN's Ben Natan ranked as his top quarterback in this draft.

It's also interesting to see the Browns go after a quarterback after trading out of the No. 2 spot, giving the Eagles a crack at Carson Wentz. Cleveland clearly wasn't sold on the long-term viability of Wentz or Goff, but it seems they still want more options at the position.

[UPDATE: 6:52 PM ET] Howdy friends, it's Adam. Just got to the NovaCare Complex about 10 minutes ago, and we're about an hour or so away from the Los Angeles Rams from being on the clock with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Glad I'll be here to ride this wave of emotions with you all.

[UPDATE: 6:20 PM ET] The thread is up! BLG here. New BGN writer Adam Hermann will be keeping this post fresh with updates above this one. I'll be busy writing about the Eagles' new quarterback and hanging out at the BGN Draft Party. Follow me for updates on Twitter: @BrandonGowton. Here's to a fun night.
