Eagles News: Adam Schefter says Sam Bradford will cost more than second round pick

Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

Eagles' Sam Bradford will cost more than a 2nd-round pick, report says - NJ.com
"I think that they'll get inquiries," ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter said Tuesday morning on 97.5 FM The Fanatic. "The whole thing is, what is somebody willing to pay? Philadelphia valued him at a very high number. They paid him $22 million in guaranteed money. If you go back and look at other quarterback trades, Alex Smith went for two second-round picks. Is he Alex Smith? I don't think he's been as productive as Alex Smith. He has not taken a team to the playoffs the way Alex Smith is. "Let's say that he's worth one No. 2 pick. Is there a team that's willing to part with a second rounder? Then, will Philadelphia be willing to move him for a two? I don't think the Eagles would, to be honest with you. I think it's going to take more than that."

Wentz on if Eagles will draft him: 'I don’t want to speculate' - CSN Philly
Carson Wentz knows he has an awful lot of questions to answer. About his lack of experience. About the level of competition he faced in college. About how he’ll transition to the NFL. Despite playing in the FCS, Wentz certainly isn’t lacking in confidence. "I think I’ve shown that I’m a winner," Wentz said. "I think I (have) a lot of intangibles that people might not see. I think my physical abilities speak for themself. "I do a lot of things behind the scenes as far as my leadership and my intelligence that can really make myself a great quarterback going forward."

Eagles 2016 NFL Draft preview: Cornerback - PhillyVoice
In 2015, Jones had four punt return touchdowns, which was one away from an NCAA single season record. He also has had five interceptions and four forced fumbles over the last two years. He just makes big plays, and often in big spots.

Irony Can Be Pretty Ironic - Iggles Blitz
Sam played well enough to deserve a reasonable deal from the Eagles. They gave him a very reasonable deal. And this was after very publicly scouting QBs at the Senior Bowl and Combine. The Eagles were never secretive about their desire to add a QB of the future. Now Sam wants to be traded, most likely to a team that benched 2 QBs last year and angered them both to the point that neither wanted to come back. Peyton might have retired anyway, but the handling of the QB situation sealed the deal. We all thought Osweiler would re-sign for sure, but he chose to leave the Super Bowl champions for a team that has 2 playoff wins (both in the Wild Card round) in its history. The Eagles don’t know how to treat QBs, but the Broncos do.

Eagles' Roseman still trying to win respect - Daily News
But the truth is, Riddick hardly is the only scout or personnel executive who doesn't hold Roseman in terribly high regard, a fact that Roseman himself is well aware of. Even now, more than a decade-and-a-half after he joined the Eagles and six years after his promotion to GM, Roseman still is considered an outlier by much of the NFL scouting community. He didn't come up through the scouting ranks like many of the league's personnel executives and GMs. He never played the game at any level. That's not to suggest he didn't work hard to get where he is. He did. It just means there are a lot of people who question whether he deserves to be where he is.

Draft Daily: Leonte Carroo, the Rutgers Receiver - Birds 24/7
Leonte Carroo has good hands, that much we know. It’s also clear he has great ball skills and can generate big plays. But what is in question, which is something that could play a big role in where he’s drafted, is if he’ll cause problems off of the field in the NFL. Last September, Carroo was charged with assaulting a woman, who alleged that he picked her up and slammed her against a concrete surface. Soon thereafter, former Rutgers coach Kyle Flood indefinitely suspended Carroo. In October, a judge dismissed the charge after the alleged victim said she didn’t want to pursue the case, and Carroo was reinstated to the football team. Carroo was ordered to attend six hours of anger management classes, and he left the court room without commenting on the case.

Eagles declined on-the-clock offer in 2012, took Fletcher Cox - PFT
In 2012, the Eagles had moved from No. 15 to No. 12 in a deal with the Seahawks. Before the Eagles exercised the pick, they received a call about trading the selection. They declined the offer, made the pick, and landed defensive lineman Fletcher Cox. The move worked out incredibly well for the Eagles.

2016 NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Carson Wentz, QB North Dakota State - Draft Breakdown
I think at North Dakota State from my junior year to my senior year it got a heckuva lot better, but it’s always one of those things that you can continue to refine because your footwork, it leads to accuracy. Being consistent with that will lead to being consistently accurate. It’s a thing that I’m really focused on with all sorts of drills and, you know, continuing just repeat, repeat, repeat until it becomes second nature.
