NFL Mock Draft 2016: Two first round options for the Philadelphia Eagles

Check out our (2016 Eagles mock draft central) for more opinions on who could be the #8 pick in April.

The 2016 NFL Draft is only a little over one week away (10 days!) . In the meantime, we're going to kill some time with our regular Mock Draft Monday series. Last week SB Nation's Dan Kadar had the Philadelphia Eagles taking, you guessed it, Ezekiel Elliott. This week Kadar lists more than one option for the Eagles at No. 8.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State - Elliott would be a good pickup for the Eagles. He's another one of the draft's surest things because he's such a complete player. If the Eagles hold with the No. 8 overall pick, he would be a good player to build Doug Pederson's offense around.

Other options - Trade up; Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

It's become common knowledge that the Eagles were making an attempt to trade up to the No. 1 overall pick, so they may try and make a play on the second pick to get a quarterback. Stanley fits here as well because he's a pro-ready pass blocker.

Surprise: another mock with Zeke to the Birds. If what we've been hearing lately is true, the Eagles really do like him. Elliott said the Eagles are showing more interest in him than any other team.

I don't think Stanley will be the pick. I don't think the Eagles go offensive line early on draft day unless either Laremy Tunsil falls within reach or the Birds trade down in the first round. It's obviously still a big position need for them with Jason Peters reaching the end of his career, but I think the team likes how deep this draft class is when it comes to offensive line talent.

We can't rule out the Eagles trying to trade up. Some NFL insiders seem convinced that the Browns are looking to move down from No. 2. If the Eagles really did try so hard to get to No. 1, are they suddenly just going to give up on their attempt to get a quarterback? If they don't have their second quarterback rated as their first one ... maybe. We've heard conflicting reports about whether the Eagles like Jared Goff or Carson Wentz. We've also heard conflicting information about the Rams' preference at No. 1, but I think Goff is the guy for them.

With over a week until the NFL Draft takes place, the Eagles have everyone guessing about what they're going to do. As always, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

So what do you think of this week's picks?
