All of those rumors about the Philadelphia Eagles trading up to the No. 1 overall pick are null and void now that the Los Angeles Rams struck a deal with the Tennessee Titans. But the trade up rumors are not completely dead yet! Now NFL insider Ian Rapoport is saying the Birds, who were in the mix for No. 1, could be in play for a trade up with the Cleveland Browns to get to No. 2 overall.
If the #Browns see the #Rams take the QB they want, don't rule out a trade with the #Eagles for No. 2. Philly was in discussions for No. 1.

There's been speculation recently that the Browns aren't so set on taking a quarterback with their first round pick. ESPN's Adam Schefter said he doesn't believe Cleveland will draft a passer.
The Browns might be especially tempted to trade down now that they see the kind of haul that the Titans got from the Rams. The market has been set.
If the Eagles do decide to trade up, it won't be cheap. The Browns now hold a lot of leverage. One would think it shouldn't be as costly of a price the Rams had to pay, though, since the Titans moved back fourteen spots from No. 1 to No. 15. The Browns would only be moving back six spots from No. 2 to No. 8 if they struck a deal with Philadelphia.
The Eagles trading up to No. 2 would be weird in the sense that their top guy might be going off the board to the Rams at No. 1. Maybe Philly has the top two quarterbacks rated equally, or maybe they expect Los Angeles to take the one they don't prefer. For what it's worth, it's been reported Doug Pederson loves Carson Wentz. It seems like Wentz is the guy the Rams want, though there's been some discussion it could be Jared Goff who goes No. 1 overall.
Or maybe this all still a bunch of nonsense and the Eagles are going to sit at No. 8. Who knows! As we've been saying all along, the Eagles are virtually guaranteed to draft a quarterback at some point this year. It's just a matter of when.

UPDATE: More confirmation that the Eagles tried to trade up to No. 1.
#Titans GM Jon Robinson says he had multiple offers for No. 1 overall pick. #Eagles one of them until withdrew earlier in week, per source
