The 2016 NFL Draft is only a little over two weeks away and now we know which players will (and won't) be attending this year's big event in Chicago. A total of 25 players are currently set to attend. Here's the full list:
CB Eli Apple, Ohio State
DE Joey Bosa, Ohio State
DT Vernon Butler, Louisiana Tech
WR Corey Coleman, Baylor
OT Jack Conklin, Michigan State
OT Taylor Decker, Ohio State
WR Josh Doctson, Texas Christian
DE Kevin Dodd, Clemson
RB Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State
QB Jared Goff, California
CB Vernon Hargreaves, Florida
LB Myles Jack, UCLA
DT Chris Jones, Mississippi State
DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson
LB Darron Lee, Ohio State
S Keanu Neal, Florida
DT Robert Nkemdiche, Mississippi
LB Reggie Ragland, Alabama
CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
DT Jarran Reed, Alabama
DT A'Shawn Robinson, Alabama
OT Ronnie Stanley, Notre Dame
WR Laquon Treadwell, Mississippi
OT Laremy Tunsil, Mississippi
QB Carson Wentz, North Dakota State
It's worth noting that the perceived top two quarterback from this class, Goff and Wentz, are attending. Last year neither Jameis Winston nor Marcus Mariota attended the draft. That didn't stop them from going No. 1 and No. 2 overall, respectively. This year it's less certain where Goff and Wentz will go. It's rumored that the Philadelphia Eagles will try to trade up in order to get one of them.
There are a number of other players on the list of 25 that could be drafted by the Eagles. Wentz, Goff, and Elliott are the three attendees who came to Philadelphia on pre-draft visits. The Birds have been connected to the likes of Stanley and Hargreaves in mock drafts, for what it's worth.
Last year, for the second year in a row, the Eagles drafted a player who didn't attend: Nelson Agholor. That was when the Birds were picking at No. 20, though. Now there's a greater chance they'll be picking a player in attendance since they're at No. 8. That's not really a big deal or anything ... I just think it's neat to have the player actually be there and hold up the jersey on the stage.
So, what do you envision happening on draft night? It's hard to dismiss the Eagles walking away with a quarterback. Or maybe it's Zeke. What do you think?
