The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with free agent quarterback Chase Daniel, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly worth up to $21 million with $12 million guaranteed.

This news hardly comes as a surprise. It was previously reported that the Eagles were the "favorites" to land Daniel.

Daniel signing in Philadelphia reunites him with former Chiefs offensive coordinator and current Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. While Pederson believes Daniel can be more than a backup, it's clear the 29-year-old quarterback isn't signing in Philadelphia to be the team's starter. The Eagles re-signed Sam Bradford last week to a two-year contract that indicates he'll be the guy for 2016.

Through six NFL seasons, Daniel has only started two games. He's completed 64.9% of his passes for 464 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and a 80.2 rating. He should be a solid addition to Philadelphia's quarterback room since he already has familiarity with the offense.

With Daniel in the fold, it's widely expected the Eagles will either cut or trade Mark Sanchez. Parting ties with Sanchez will allow the Eagles to save a decent amount of cap space.
