The Philadelphia Eagles are still interested in free agent quarterback Chase Daniel despite re-signing Sam Bradford, according a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

It was reported earlier this offseason that Eagles head coach and former Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson views Daniel as "more than a backup." But that's exactly what Daniel would be if he comes to Philadelphia, because Bradford is in line to be the team's starter.

Daniel is arguably one of the best quarterbacks available in a weak free agent market so signing him might not be so cheap. He would be a nice addition to Philadelphia's quarterback room as someone who is familiar with Pederson's scheme. His addition would also spell the end of Mark Sanchez, who can be released to save $3.5 million or traded to save $4.5 million.

The Eagles might feel the need to invest heavily in a backup due to Bradford's uninspiring career body of work as a starter and his extensive injury history. Philadelphia is also expected to draft and groom a rookie from the 2016 NFL Draft class.
