NFL Mock Draft 2016: Mel Kiper 3.0

Check out our (2016 Eagles mock draft central) for more opinions on who could be the #13 pick in April.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has released Version 3.0 of his 2016 NFL Mock Draft before the official start of free agency. Previously, Kiper had the Eagles taking a defensive lineman in his Version 1.0 and an offensive lineman in Version 2.0. Here's the pick at No. 13 overall, via ESPN In$ider. You'll never guess who it is oh wait it's the same guy who is almost being exclusively mocked to the Eagles at this point.

"Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State - If you just go on tape and forget pure potential, you would put Conklin much closer to the No. 1 and No. 3 picks in this mock draft. The Eagles can't go wrong in drafting even a couple good offensive linemen. Free-agency effect: Philadelphia won't solve O-line depth issues in free agency alone. The makeover is ongoing, but the Eagles need to add young O-line talent."

It's worth noting the Eagles met with Conklin at the 2016 NFL Combine.

There's not much else to say about Conklin that hasn't already been said at this point, so I'll just regurgitate what I've already said.

Offensive line is such an obvious need for the Eagles that they're bound to be connected to players like now that the quarterback situation is "settled" with Sam Bradford being re-signed. The Birds will have a chance to add a new blocker (or two) in free agency. They've already been connected to Chiefs offensive lineman Jeff Allen. The Eagles could sign Allen to start at left guard while drafting Conklin to start at right guard. Conklin would eventually be moved out to right tackle once Lane Johnson moves over to the left side to replace Jason Peters.

Do you like this pick? Here's who came off the board before Philadelphia's selection at No. 13.

1) Tennessee Titans - OT Laremy Tunsil
2) Cleveland Browns - QB Carson Wentz
3) San Diego Chargers - OT Ronnie Stanley
4) Dallas Cowboys - DE DeForest Buckner
5) Jacksonville Jaguars - DB Jalen Ramsey
6) Baltimore Ravens - DE Joey Bosa
7) San Francisco 49ers - QB Jared Goff
8) Miami Dolphins - LB Myles Jack
9) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - CB Vernon Hargreaves
10) New York Giants - DE Shaq Lawson
11) Chicago Bears - OLB Leonard Floyd
12) New Orleans Saints - DL Sheldon Rankins

Once again, Kiper doesn't have Paxton Lynch in the first round at all.
