Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles were very busy on the first official day of NFL free agency. The team agreed to terms with five new players, made two big trades, and even had one of their own free agents signed away by another team. In order to catch up, here's a recap of what's happened so far.

Signings

QB Chase Daniel agrees to three-year contract worth $21 million with $12 million guaranteed ($36M max value)

The Eagles have a new backup QB. He'll also reportedly be given the chance to compete for the starting job. It's only a matter of time before Mark Sanchez is gone.

S Rodney McLeod agrees to five-year contract worth $35 million with $13 million guaranteed

The Eagles needed a new starting safety to pair with Malcolm Jenkins. McLeod is an ascending talent.

OG Brandon Brooks agrees to five-year contract worth $40 million with $17 million guaranteed

The Eagles needed two new starting guards, so this takes care of one of those spots. On paper, Brooks was one of the best guards available. He has a good track record of being durable.

LB Nigel Bradham agrees to two-year contract.

The Eagles needed a new 4-3 outside linebacker after trading Kiko Alonso. Bradham has experienced playing at SAM for Jim Schwartz.

CB Ron Brooks agrees to three-year contract worth $5.5 million with $1.5 million guaranteed.

The Eagles needed cornerback depth. Brooks can compete for playing time on defense and contribute on special teams.

Trades

RB DeMarco Murray and Eagles 2016 fourth round pick sent to the Titans in exchange for Tennessee's fourth round pick

The Eagles were just looking to dump the disgruntled Murray's salary. Getting pretty much anything for him was worth it for the Birds.

CB Byron Maxwell, LB Kiko Alonso, and Eagles No. 13 overall pick to the Dolphins for Miami's No. 8 overall pick

The Eagles dumped salary and a disappointing player on the Fish in exchange for an opportunity to move into the top 10 of the 2016 NFL Draft.
