The New Orleans Saints released veteran right guard Jahri Evans on Monday. The 32-year-old Philadelphia native is now free to sign with any team. So could he end up with the Eagles? At least one Birds player is trying to make it happen. Check out this tweet from Malcolm Jenkins:
Who'd like to see Philly native @J_7TRE_E return home?!? We've done pretty well with these ex-Saints .... Just putting that out there lol ✋

Jenkins and Evans were teammates together in New Orleans from 2009-2013. They won a Super Bowl together in 2010.
This isn't the first time Jenkins has attempted to publicly recruit a free agent to Philadelphia. He did the same thing with DeMarco Murray. And it worked! But Eagles fans probably wish it didn't.
In any case, Evans might have some interest in playing for his hometown team. But would the Eagles be interested in him? There's no question Evans was a very good guard in his prime. He's made the Pro Bowl six times and the AP first-team All Pro four times. The Eagles have a glaring need at guard. They need two new starters at the position.
It's fair to wonder how much Evans has left. He's battled injuries over the past few years. There's an argument to be made the Eagles should opt to go younger on the offensive line.
At the very least, we know Jenkins wants his former teammate to join him.
