ESPN NFL draft analyst Todd McShay recently released a new 2016 NFL mock draft. This is McShay's Version 2.0 mock. He had the Eagles taking a defensive tackle at No. 20 in his Version 1.0 back in December. Now that we know the Eagles are picking at No. 13, McShay has a different selection for Philadelphia: an offensive tackle. Via ESPN In$ider:

"Jack Conklin, T, Michigan State Spartans -- At 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, Conklin shows good mobility for his size, along with very consistent awareness, technique and effort. He plays with power and is a finisher in the run game. He's balanced enough to protect a quarterback's blind side. Even after signing Lane Johnson to an extension, the Eagles need to plan for the future at tackle with Jason Peters now 34."

There's no question the Eagles need to address the offensive line after failing to pick an offensive lineman in the draft since Lane Johnson in 2013. Speaking of Johnson, it's clear he's the team's left tackle of the future after his recent contract extension. It seems like Peters is still going to be kept around, however, so there wouldn't be an opportunity for Conklin to start right away. That's not necessarily a bad thing. He would be the top backup at both tackle position and be the eventual successor at right tackle once Johnson moves over to the left side.

Here's a scouting profile on Conklin via CBS Sports:

"Conklin is powerful and quick-minded to read/react in a flash and dominate in tight spaces, but he doesn't have the quick-twitch body control to consistently mirror in space. He's not a top-shelf athlete and will struggle with edge speed at times, but no one is going through him due to his wide base and contact balance. He is always in a ready position and rarely seems surprised, which compensates for his lack of elite quickness in pass protection. Conklin is well-coached, physical and a natural competitor, which makes him NFL ready from Day One."

NFL.com lists Conklin's NFL comparison as a former Eagles player ... Jon Runyan.
