Eagles hire assistant coach from Samford

The Philadelphia Eagles have made another addition to their coaching roster According to a report from FootballScoop.com, Samford defensive quality control coach Spencer Phillips will be joining Doug Pederson's staff.

It's unclear what title Phillips will hold with the Eagles. Considering his relative lack of experience, it figures to be a low level position.

Prior to joining Samford in 2015, Phillips served as a quarterbacks coach with the "Throw It Deep" academy for seven years.

Samford has a notable prospect eligible in the 2016 NFL Draft: defensive back James Bradberry. He impressed at the Senior Bowl. The Eagles were spotted talking to him in Alabama.
