If the Eagles have to swap wide receiver for wide receiver, they’ll likely gladly take the exchange of Jordan Matthews for Dorial Green-Beckham.
Green-Beckham was held out of practice for the second straight day on Thursday, never a good sign when the team play a 1:00 game on Sunday.
But Matthews, who missed last weekend’s game against the Bengals with an ankle injury, was a full participant in practice for the first time since he suffered the ankle injury against the Packers, which is of course a good sign.
Ryan Mathews also was a full participant on Thursday, the second straight day for the oft-banged up running back. He missed last weekend’s game as well. Adam Schefter said on ESPN today that the Eagles are expecting Mathews to carry the ball 10-12 times if he is indeed healthy enough to play against Washington, which right now is the prevailing thought within the NovaCare Complex.
Sure, it’d be nice to have all the pieces available. But Matthews + Mathews > Green-Beckham.
