As we do every month during the regular season, this week we’re starting another series of approval polls to gauge Eagles fans’ takes on the people in charge of the franchise.
This morning we’re going to ask you what you think about the job Jeffrey Lurie has done as the team’s owner.
Lurie decided this offseason to put trust back in Howie Roseman, who signed a lot of core team guys to big, long contracts. We’ll evaluate Roseman tomorrow, but in terms of talking about Lurie’s decision to entrust Roseman with player evaluation and money allocation, it was certainly an interesting choice just a year after revoking his personnel control in favor of never-done-this-before man Chip Kelly.
There’s a chance that Roseman simply isn’t the man for this job, and if that proves to be the case, Lurie should absolutely come under fire for the decision to return to the comfortable choice.
There’s also a chance that Roseman has found the future of the team, and a franchise-changer, in Carson Wentz, in which case Lurie would deserve the accolades he would receive.
But with the Eagles 5-7 after a hot start, and the team showing signs of breakage down the stretch for the third straight season, it’s fair to question if there’s something a little deeper going wrong with the team and organization.
This next month should be fairly interesting.
