The NFL announced on Wednesday that Malcolm Jenkins has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 16 performance in the Eagles’ win over the Giants.
Jenkins nabbed two interceptions against Eli Manning and the Giants, including one which was returned for a touchdown to give the Eagles a 14-0 lead early in the game.
After a couple of years with Eagles fans maligning Jenkins for his inability to hold on to sure interceptions, it was a nice change of pace to see one of the team’s best defenders come up with big plays. Jenkins has had another great year, his third since signing with the Eagles as a free agent before the 2014 NFL season.
Jenkins has three interceptions, two touchdowns, and one fumble recovery in 15 games this year.
Congrats, Malcolm.
