According to a report from the Inquirer’s Marc Narducci, Temple University has contacted Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo about their football team’s recently vacant head coaching position.
Matt Rhule left Temple for the same job at Baylor University this week. Rhule led Temple to consecutive 10-win seasons.
DeFilippo, of course, joined the Eagles as the team’s quarterbacks coach just this offseason after spending three years with the Raiders in the same position and one year with the Browns as the team’s offensive coordinator.
DeFilippo is often credited with kickstarting Derek Carr’s development in Oakland, and when the Eagles brought DeFilippo in, the idea was he would do the same with Carson Wentz.
DeFilippo was born in Ohio, but he spent his high school days at local Radnor High School as his father worked as Villanova’s athletic director.
This is a developing story. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
