Dorial Green-Beckham is officially inactive for today’s game against Washington. He’s dealing with an abdomen injury and missed practice all week, so his status was expected.
In Green-Beckham’s absence, however, Jordan Matthews will be active after missing the Eagles’ Week 13 loss to the Bengals. Matthews, of course, is the much more productive of the two wide receivers. It would be nice if Carson Wentz could have a full compliment of wideouts, but if the Eagles must swap these two players, this is the direction they would like the exchange to go.
Ryan Mathews, who missed last week’s game, is also active. He’s missed two games with injuries this season, and effectively missed a third in Week 3, so his production has been severely hampered.
Here are the rest of the Eagles’ inactives:
OL Brandon Brooks
Unexpected. Brooks was announced as inactive Sunday morning.
RB Kenjon Barner
Unexpected. Likely the move the Eagles decided to make because Mathews is healthy and Brooks is out.
OL Halapoulivaati Vaitai
Expected. Dealing with a knee injury which has sidelined him for weeks.
OL Dillon Gordon
Expected. Backup lineman.
OL Josh Andrews
Expected. Backup lineman.
DT Taylor Hart
Expected. Dealing with an ankle injury suffered in practice a couple weeks ago.
LB Kamu Grugier-Hill
Unexpected. Backup linebacker and special teams player.
