Today we begin a series of approval polls to mark this moment in Eagles franchise history: halfway through the 2016 season, with the Eagles sitting at 4-4 and last in the NFC East.
We last broached the subject of your take on Lurie back in late September, when the Birds were 3-0, coming off a huge win over the Steelers, and Carson Wentz was playing the best football of any team in the NFL. You voted an overwhelming 96 percent in favor of Lurie, because Eagles fans were rapturously, head-over-heels in love with everything happening with the franchise.
Fast forward a little over a month, reality has started to settle around the team and the franchise. Carson Wentz is still the face of the franchise for the future, which means the direction of the team is certainly facing upwards.
But there are plenty of holes around Wentz, on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, and confidence in rookie head coach Doug Pederson (which we will measure more exactly later in the week) isn’t as sky-high as it was six weeks ago.
Still, Lurie has been a steady presence at the helm of the Eagles organization for years now, and it seems the franchise, rudderless for a few years, has the cornerstone player it needs to move towards regaining contender status in the future.
Are you confident in Jeffrey Lurie as owner of the Philadelphia Eagles? Vote now in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
