Eagles release Josh Huff

WR was arrested on Tuesday

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles have released wide receiver Josh Huff in the wake of his arrest on Tuesday. Huff was stopped on the Walt Whitman Bridge for speeding and was found in possession of marijuana and a gun, leading to his arrest. Huff did not have permit to carry a gun in New Jersey, which has jurisdiction over the Walt Whitman Bridge. He was also found in possession of hollow point bullets, which bring with them separate charges. Huff faces additional charges for being under the influence while driving and having an “obstructed view” from heavily tinted windows, per the Delaware River Port Authority.

In his weekly Wednesday press conference, head coach Doug Pederson said that Huff status with the team would not change until they had more information. It seems the Eagles have obtained all the information they feel they need to justify outright releasing Huff.

General Manager Howie Roseman will address the media at 12:20 pm on the issue.

Stay tuned for updates.
