Ryan Mathews, as Doug Pederson said this morning, is officially out for Monday night’s game against the Packers at the Linc. The Eagles will be down to three running backs: Darren Sproles, Kenjon Barner, and Wendell Smallwood.
Mathews and Sproles both suffered injuries in the first half of the Eagles’ loss to Seattle last weekend. Sproles will be good to go, which means he could see the brunt of the carries against the Packers’ defense on Monday night.
Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who could be missing multiple weeks, is also out, as was expected. Doug Pederson has repeatedly called him “week to week.”
Nelson Agholor is still in play, as Doug Pederson mentioned this morning, although his status could be a game-time decision as he continues to deal with mental obstacles surrounding his play.
