Eagles vs. Lions 2016: First Quarter

The Eagles are back from the bye!

The Eagles are back! After destroying the Steelers in Week 3, they took Week 4 off with a bye. It sucked. We were all sad. I barely even watched football last week.

But they have returned, and they’re facing the Lions in Detroit at 1:00 today.

There are a few storylines running through today’s game:

Can Carson Wentz possibly look any better than he did against the Steelers? He was stupendous. He’s won Rookie of the Week twice already. The only concern is some kind of a come down, although from what we’ve seen, there’s no reason to expect such a thing.

Jim Schwartz is returning to Detroit, where he was a head coach for years. How dominant is his defense going to be today? He tried to downplay things during the week, but c’mon -- he’s Jim. He’s fired up as all hell.

Oh, and — if the Eagles win today, they’re 4-0. 83 percent of teams to start 4-0 make the playoffs. JUST SAYING.
