The Eagles made a handful of roster changes this evening.
As expected, CB Ron Brooks was placed on Injured Reserve with a quadriceps injury. To fill his roster spot, the Eagles claimed DT Taylor Hart off waivers from the 49ers. Hart had spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Eagles after being drafted in the 5th round of the the 2014 draft, where he played for Chip Kelly at Oregon. After going inactive for all of 2014, Hart appeared in 14 games in 2015, including one start. Hart originally made this years 53 man roster, but was among those released to make way for waiver claims Terrence Brooks, Bryce Treggs and Kamu Grugier-Hill. After being waived, he was claimed by the 49ers. He appeared in one game for San Francisco, and waived on Saturday to make room for RB JuJu Harris.
The addition of Hart would indicate that DT Bennie Logan’s calf injury that kept him out of Sunday’s win against the Vikings will keep him sidelined for longer.
The team also finalized an expected practice squad move. No, it did not involved Darrelle Green. The team released G Matt Rotherham from the practice squad and as expected, brought back CB CJ Smith. Smith, a 2016 undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State, originally made the Eagles 53 man roster but was released along with Taylor Hart to make way for waiver claims. Now, both are back on the roster.
