There he goes.

The Miami Dolphins are finalizing a deal to make Adam Gase their next head coach, according to a report from Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post. Here's the exact language:

"The Dolphins are finalizing a deal to hire Adam Gase, the 37-year-old offensive coordinator of the Bears, as its next coach, according to a team source. Gase will become the Dolphins ninth full-time head coach."

The move hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but all signs point to it getting done. Gase is reportedly visiting Miami for a second interview on Saturday and the Dolphins are expected to make a strong push for him.

With Gase potentially signing in Miami, the Eagles just lost one of their head coaching candidates. The Birds reportedly had mutual interest in Gase, and there was talk that he might come in for a second interview next week. But now it looks like that won't happen.

Gase was one of four available candidates the Eagles have officially interviewed so far. Philadelphia is still reportedly set to interview Dirk Koetter, Teryl Austin, Doug Pederson, Paul Guenther, and Tom Coughlin. One can wonder if the Eagles' slow approach caused them to miss out on Gase.
