Sean Payton is not leaving the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from NFL insider Sean Payton.
After days of deliberation, I'm told that #Saints coach Sean Payton isn't going anywhere. He and GM Mickey Loomis agreed he's staying. Wow

There was talk that Payton might leave the Saints or be traded to a different team, but those rumors are moot now. He's staying in New Orleans.
The Philadelphia Eagles were reportedly expected to have interest in Payton if he became available. They were one of four teams reportedly willing to trade for him. Payton ending up in Philadelphia never appeared likely, so this was a case of the Eagles aiming high, if anything.
With Payton staying put, the Eagles have one less coaching option. The Eagles still have interest in plenty of other coaching candidates, including Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase.
