Eagles confirm interview with Adam Gase

The Philadelphia Eagles officially interviewed Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase (coaching profile) on Tuesday. The team confirmed the news:

Gase reportedly left Philadelphia in order to continue his interview process with other NFL teams. He's set to meet with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday before flying to Miami to sit down with the Dolphins.

Just because the Eagles didn't hire Gase on the spot doesn't mean he's gone for good. Both sides could circle back if there's mutual interest.

Gase is the first external candidate to interview with the Eagles. Philadelphia has already interviewed running back coach Duce Staley and interim head coach Pat Shurmur. The Eagles are reportedly set to interview Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin and Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo this week.

While it's possible that a coaching hire to happen at any time, a final decision shouldn't necessarily be expected any time soon.
