Pro Football Focus is everyone's favorite site that grades NFL player performances. Let's take a look at what they had to say about Eagles players from Philadelphia's win over the Giants in Week 17. PFF offers explanation on their grading system on their website. Read more about that here.
OFFENSE
Best
Zach Ertz +5.1
Jason Kelce +4.6
Sam Bradford +4.6
Lane Johnson +3.3
Darren Sproles +1.7
Allen Barbre +1.6
Brent Celek +1.4
Analysis:
It's rare to see so many Eagles offensive players earn positive grades.
Ertz led the way with nine receptions for 152 yards, which averages out to 16.9 yards per reception. Ertz had a dominant four game stretch to end the season. The Eagles need him to carry over that success into next season.
Kelce and Johnson graded well as run blockers. Barbre was strong in pass protection.
Celek had two catches for 38 yards. One was a really tough leaping/diving grab on third down to move the chains late in the game.
Bradford played his best game of the season. The Eagles starting quarterback completed 30 of his 38 attempts for 320 yards (8.4 average), two touchdowns, one interception (which came on a tipped ball), and a 108.3 passer rating. Bradford benefited from New York's poor defense but he also made some really nice throws. Bradford finished the season as PFF's 12th best rated quarterback. He's 25 spots ahead of the 37th ranked Nick Foles.
Worst
DeMarco Murray -2.4
Josh Huff -1.4
Riley Cooper -1.0
Analysis:
Murray rushed for a mere 15 yards on 11 carries after his 54-yard touchdown run. He also fumbled. What a bad year for Murray.
Huff was targeted once and dropped a pass. Cooper was targeted once and finished with no receptions for the seventh time this season.
DEFENSE
Best
Brandon Graham +7.6
Fletcher Cox +4.1
Marcus Smith II +3.1
Analysis:
The Eagles' pass rush had a good game. Graham led the way with seven hurries. Cox also had seven hurries of his own. Smith actually picked up a sack (!) and had two hits on Eli Manning (!!) to go with three hurries (!!!). One can only hope to contain Marcus Smith.
Worst
DeMeco Ryans -4.0
E.J. Biggers -3.9
Ed Reynolds -3.2
Denzel Rice -1.5
Najee Goode -1.4
Analysis:
Mufasa missed a tackle and struggled in coverage.
Biggers was flagged for holding. He allowed seven receptions for 87 yards.
Reynolds held up in coverage but missed three tackles in run defense.
Rice was penalized twice in his first real NFL action on defense.
Goode missed a tackle.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Best
Caleb Sturgis +2.8
Analysis:
Six kickoffs, six touchbacks for Sturgis. No missed extra points. Good stuff. Sturgis ended up being more serviceable than expected this season.
