The Philadelphia Eagles tried to interview defensive line coach Kris Kocurek for the same position on Doug Pederson's staff but were denied, according to a report from Jeff McLane. Kocurek obviously shares a connection with former Lions head coach and current Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
Defensive line coach is the only major position on Pederson's staff that hasn't been filled out yet. The team was reportedly interested in Rory Segrest but he said he's committed to staying with the Arkansas Razorbacks.
There's been some speculation (again, speculation, and nothing more) that Jim Washburn could be in the mix. Washburn was supposed to join the Adam Gase's coaching staff with the Miami Dolphins but he isn't listed as their defensive line coach. Schwartz is a fan of Washburn, but it's hard to believe the Eagles would bring him back based on how poorly his time ended in Philadelphia. Brandon Graham said having Washburn around was the low point of his playing career.
And so the Eagles' search for a new defensive line coach continues.
