Andy Reid doesn't expect Doug Pederson to bring Chiefs assistants to the Eagles

Interesting ...

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

When Andy Reid joined the Chiefs after getting fired by the Eagles, he naturally brought a bunch of his assistants from Philadelphia with him to Kansas City. One of those assistants was current Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. But now that Pederson is leaving to return to Philadelphia, it's not expected he'll be bringing Chiefs assistants with him. At least that's what Reid had to say, per Randy Covitz:

If true, this would be surprising. It's not like Pederson is expected to completely raid Kansas City's staff, but it would seem he might bring at least one or two Chiefs assistants. It's already been reported that Brad Childress might be Pederson's offensive coordinator. The Chiefs have the right to block Pederson from taking assistants with him, but one would think some of those assistants might desire bigger roles in Philadelphia.

So far there are six rumored candidates to be joining Pederson's staff. There's also a report about who Pederson prefers as offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator. None of those rumored names include Chiefs assistants.

It'll be interesting to see how Pederson's staff shapes up.
