The Philadelphia Eagles are losing to another assistant coach to the San Francisco 49ers. According to a report from Alex Marvez, Eagles wide receiver coach Bob Bicknell is joining Chip Kelly's staff with the same title.
The 46-year-old Bicknell is the second Eagles staff member to reportedly be linking up with Kelly out west. On Saturday evening, it was reported that Eagles quarterback coach Ryan Day is going to the 49ers.
This isn't the first time the 49ers have shown interest in Bicknell. Last year he reportedly drew consideration in San Francisco's search for a new offensive coordinator.
Bicknell first joined the Eagles in 2013 as an original member of Kelly's first staff in Philadelphia. Before being hired by the Eagles, Bicknell was the wide receiver coach for the Buffalo Bills.
It's hard to say Bicknell will be missed. He reportedly clashed with former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who allegedly cursed the coach out at one point. Philadelphia's young wide receivers didn't exactly flourish under Bicknell's watch.
It's no surprise to see Kelly taking a lot of his assistant with him to the 49ers. Now it's up to new Eagles head coach Doug Pederson to build his own staff.
