Eagles turning their attention to Tom Coughlin and will talk to him again, per report

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles are down to four publicly known coaching candidates after missing out on Ben McAdoo, the team is reportedly refocusing their efforts on a single name: former Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.

Philadelphia's interest in Coughlin first emerged over the weekend. The Eagles officially confirmed their interview with the 69-year-old coach on Monday.

Coughlin is arguably the best remaining candidate for the Eagles. That's not saying much because their options are limited, but he has plenty of NFL experience and he's known for being able to connect with his players. The problem is the question of his longevity. Is he the right fit for this organization?

The Eagles aren't the only team in on Coughlin. The San Francisco 49ers also interviewed him. This whole deal could be Coughlin's agent trying to leverage the Eagles and 49ers against each other. With that said, the Eagles might have a geographical edge:

Recent reports indicate Philadelphia's coaching search might be over soon. If that's the case, maybe Coughlin is going to be the guy. Of the four known options, he's currently (slightly) favored by Eagles fans:
