The Philadelphia Eagles are down to four publicly known coaching candidates now that Ben McAdoo has reportedly been hired by the New York Giants. Two of those options are internal candidates: interim head coach Pat Shurmur and running back coach Duce Staley. According to NFL insider Jason La Canfora, there's a decent chance one of those two candidates is Philadelphia's next head coach.
Giants hiring likely part of trend to come. Titans, Eagles and Bucs all giving real consideration to promoting from within as well

Shurmur's experience obviously gives him the edge over Staley. He was the head coach of the Browns for two years. Shurmur finished with a 9-23 record while in Cleveland. Hiring Shurmur could also potentially help the Eagles keep Sam Bradford around, if that's the direction the team wants to go at quarterback.
A Shumur hire would be very uninspiring. There's not much to indicate he'll have much success in his second stint as head coach.
For more on Shurmur, read this coaching profile, I guess.
