The Philadelphia Eagles might not be keeping Tim Tebow after all, according to a report from Howard Eskin.
I'm getting many indications Tim Tebow is among the cuts by #eagles. Chip Kelly looking for QB and possible OL help.
— Howard Eskin (@howardeskin) September 5, 2015
The wording here is interesting. It doesn't seem concrete. Eskin isn't reporting that the Eagles did cut Tebow, just that it seems like it might happen.
If true, it would be something of a surprise. Tebow may have struggled this summer at times but he finished the preseason strong. There have already been plenty of reports how Tebow has a "very good chance" to make Philadelphia's final roster. Plus, Chip Kelly typically likes to keep three quarterbacks and finding a new one at this point might not be ideal. Any new quarterback the team acquires is going to have the learn the team's system on the fly whereas Tebow already has a few months of experience in it. But maybe a quarterback whom Kelly likes more than Tebow will get cut. We'll see.
Eskin also notes the Eagles are looking for offensive line. That's not a surprise considering their shaky depth up front.
