NFL Roster Cuts 2015: Eagles open to trading Kenjon Barner

The Philadelphia Eagles are listening to offers for backup running back Kenjon Barner, according to a report from Mark Eckel of NJ.com. Via the report:

"The Eagles are stacked at running back with DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles. Barner would be a nice insurance policy as the No. 4 back, but that's all he would probably be. So the impressive preseason has some of the other 31 teams interested and the Eagles, according to someone with knowledge of the situation, are more than willing to listen to offers for the talented running back/returnman. The likely return would be a late-round pick, but maybe in a rare player for player trade the Eagles could get an offensive lineman or a safety."

This an interesting report. Many have figured Barner is safe to make Philadelphia's roster as the fourth running back. The former Oregon Ducks running back has had a great summer for the Eagles. He's returned two punts for touchdowns along with making some big plays on offense.

The Eagles might plan on keeping Barner, but another team could change their mind with a good offer. If the Eagles don't keep Barner, that would clear the way for impressive rookie undrafted free agent running back Raheem Mostert as the fourth running back.

Personally, I would still expect the Eagles to keep Barner and try to put Mostert on the practice squad. But we'll see.
