The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report in advance of their Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins.
The big news involves Kiko Alonso. The Eagles linebacker won't play this week but he is expected to return at some point this season. Various reported timelines seem to indicate he'll be able to play in a month or so. Considering it was thought Alonso might be out for the season at one point, this is obviously big news. For now, Alonso is still in Florida and won't return to Philly until Friday.
The other two players who didn't practice include Riley Cooper and Chris Maragos. Cooper suffered an injury during the Jets game. He returned to the game but he sat out of practice yesterday and today. Chip Kelly said he expects Cooper to play this week. On Tuesday, Bill Davis said he expects Maragos to play this week.
Starting running back DeMarco Murray was limited in practice. He's reportedly scheduled to speak with the media after practice on Thursday. Jason Peters was also limited but Kelly said he expects him to play this week. Second-year defensive end Taylor Hart returned to practice on Wednesday.
After missing practice and the Eagles' game last week, Mychal Kendricks was a full participant in practice. That seems like a good sign he'll play against Washington, though Kelly cautioned the Eagles need to see how he progresses throughout this week. If Kendricks is ready to play, it could be him and DeMeco Ryans starting with rookie Jordan Hicks rotating in.
