The Philadelphia Eagles announced their game-day inactive list in advance of their 2015 NFL Week 3 match versus the New York Jets.
DeMarco Murray is INACTIVE, which is a surprise. Reports indicated he would start for the Eagles at running back. Look for Philadelphia to rely on Ryan Mathews as the team's starter with Darren Sproles also mixing in. With Murray out, fourth string running back Kenjon Barner is active.
Josh Huff being inactive is also a bit of a surprise because he wasn't listed on the injury report until the Eagles added him on Saturday.
Kiko Alonso, Mychal Kendricks, Cedric Thornton, and Taylor Hart were all ruled out well in advance of this game. Jordan Hicks and DeMeco Ryans are expected to start at inside linebacker. Brandon Bair, not Vinny Curry, will reportedly start at defensive end. Curry will still rotate in at that position.
2014 first round pick Marcus Smith is active for the first time this season. He figures to be the No. 3 outside linebacker behind starters Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham.
Depth players Denzel Rice and Dennis Kelly are both active for the first time this season due to the fact the Eagles have so many injured players on the inactive list.
Newly signed third string quarterback Thad Lewis is inactive, as expected.
