Eagles vs. Jets Injury Report: Mychal Kendricks among four players officially ruled out

A final update on the Eagles' Week 3 injury situation.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles released their final official injury report in advance of their Week 3 game against the New York Jets. The team practiced at Monmouth University on Friday due to the papal visit in Philadelphia.

Starting running back DeMarco Murray is questionable to play after suffering a hamstring injury in practice this week. Reports indicate Murray WILL be active and play, for what it's worth.

Kiko Alonso, Cedric Thornton, and Taylor Hart have all been ruled out, as expected. It remains to be seen when a long-term decision will be made on Alonso's status. With Thornton and Hart out, expect Vinny Curry and Brandon Bair to step up at defensive end.

Starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks has also been ruled out. Kendricks suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game and hasn't practiced since. Expect Jordan Hicks and DeMeco Ryans to be the starters on the inside. Brad Jones and/or the recently re-signed Najee Goode might also rotate in.

Marcus Smith expects to be the team's third outside linebacker this week now that he's full healthy and Curry has moved back to primarily playing defensive end. Smith was inactive last week. It seems like he'll get a few rotational snaps against the Jets behind starters Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin.

Veteran wide receiver and special teams ace Seyi Ajirotutu is expected to return to action this week after missing Week 2 with a concussion and elbow injury.
