The Eagles are in need of some extra inside linebacker depth after Mychal Kendricks and Kiko Alonso both left Philadelphia's Week 2 game early with injuries. Kendricks will reportedly try to play this week after suffering a hamstring injury, but Alonso's status is less clear.
Goode is a capable backup who had been with the Eagles since 2013 before being waived in final cuts earlier this month. Chip Kelly said Goode was one of the toughest players to cut at the time. The veteran can also contribute on special teams.
In order to make room for Goode, the Eagles released Julian Vandervelde. The backup offensive lineman only re-signed with the team last week after David Molk went down with a season-ending biceps injury. Josh Andrews remains the team's backup center behind Jason Kelce.
