Eagles vs. Jets preseason 2015: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming, channel and more

Learn more about the Eagles-Jets preseason matchup that is set to take place Thursday evening at MetLife Stadium.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles 2015 NFL preseason schedule finishes up this week. The Eagles are scheduled to play the New York Jets at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday night in NFL Preseason Week 4 action. This is the last game the Eagles will play before the start of the 2015 NFL regular season.

The last preseason game is typically pretty boring because most teams don't really play any of their starters. Unlike most years, however, the Eagles might have a few key players who suit up for this game. Offseason acquisition Kiko Alonso is expected to make his Eagles debut, though we'll believe it when we see it. Second-year wide receiver Josh Huff confirmed that he is expected to play.

A number of backup players will be fighting for their jobs in this game. One of the biggest position battles remaining is obviously the contest between Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley. Barkley will start the game, but recent reports indicate Tebow is still the favorite to make the Eagles' 53-man roster. Both quarterbacks have been less than spectacular this summer so they could both use a good showing.

On defense, one of the depth battles to keep an eye on is the safety position. Malcolm Jenkins and Walter Thurmond are locks to start. Chris Maragos is a lock to make the roster as a special teams player. Chris Prosinski is arguably favored to return considering how he excelled on special teams in 2014. But will the Eagles keep a fifth safety? Ed Reynolds and Jerome Couplin are battling hard for a spot that may or may not exist.

As previously noted, this is the final Eagles game of the 2015 preseason. The deadline to cut down to 53 players takes place on Sept. 5 at 4:00 PM EST.

Keep in mind the Eagles will play the New York Jets in Week 3 of the regular season.
