Eagles waive Jeff Maehl with injury settlement

He's gone.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles waived wide receiver Jeff Maehl off the team's injured reserve list with an injury settlement, as noted by ESPN's Adam Caplan.

The team placed Maehl on injured reserve last week to help Philadelphia get down to the 53-man limit. It's unclear what kind of injury Maehl suffered.

Maehl was originally acquired by the Eagles during the 2013 offseason in a trade with the Houston Texans. The Eagles gave up Nate Menkin in the deal. In the two seasons Maehl spent with the Eagles, he was active for 24 games. He recorded nine receptions for 113 yards and one touchdown during that span.

With Maehl gone, only two Eagles players remain on the team's injured reserve list: rookie cornerback JaCorey Shepherd and depth outside linebacker Travis Long.

The Eagles only have six remaining Oregon Ducks players on the team's active roster: Kiko Alonso, Brandon Bair, Kenjon Barner, Taylor Hart, Josh Huff, and Walter Thurmond.
