Let's get to the links...
Chip Kelly: Rasheed Bailey has 'bright future' but must improve - CSN Philly
We just grade every player," Chip Kelly said Wednesday, the Eagles’ first day back since final cuts. "Rasheed did a really nice job here, but when you look at inside receiver, outside receiver, special teams, we just had Freddie and Quron ahead of him." Kelly said he was contacted this week by a CFL team asking about Bailey. He’s got some good film, he’s got good size and he’s a character kid. If he keeps at it, he could get another chance somewhere.
NFC Hierarchy/Obituary: Week 0 - PhillyVoice
The Eagles look like they may have a great rushing attack, numbers/variety in the passing game, elite talent at LT-C-RT, a very good rush D, pass rushers in numbers, and the best special teams units in the NFL. Obviously, a lot depends on how well Sam Bradford plays, and whether or not he can stay healthy, but this is a Super Bowl contender.
Projecting the Eagles - Iggles Blitz
Let’s talk a bit about the 2015 season. I think the Eagles are going to be one of the better teams in the NFL. Chip Kelly is one of the best coaches in the league. The Eagles have built up a talented roster, and just as importantly, one that fits Kelly’s schemes. They escaped the presesason without any major injuries. This team has big time potential. I think the Eagles are the best team in the NFC East. Dallas certainly has a good team and they are coming off a terrific season. But the 2014 Cowboys were built around DeMarco Murray. He’s now an Eagle. That is going to affect the team.
Sam Bradford a risk the Eagles had to take - Daily News
But Bradford has proven he can take a hit or two or three long before he did so this preseason. At 6-4 and 224 pounds, that has hardly been the problem. When his knee blew out the first time, he was scrambling out of bounds. When it blew out a second time, the contact was so minimal that the injury was not believed to be serious at first. No, it's the frequency of injury throughout a life of playing sports, and the variety that is disconcerting.
Fantasy Focus: Eagles Week 1 Projections - Birds 24/7
My take: Underrated. I agree about Bradford's big Philadelphia debut, but I guess I have a different definition of "big." Atlanta doesn't have a great secondary, and Bradford will have plenty of time to throw the ball. Two touchdowns and 249 yards are fair—though a bit conservative—but I don't see him turning the ball over. Unless you have an elite quarterback on your roster, start Bradford—and feel good about it.
Byron Maxwell Primed For First Test - PE.com
One of the biggest questions heading into the game will be whether or not the Eagles elect to have Maxwell shadow Jones, who caught five passes for 123 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles in 2012. If the two are matched up head-to-head, the game will give Maxwell a chance to break out as a "number one corner," but Maxwell is focusing on team goals rather than individual ones in his Eagles debut.
Brandon Marshall sees both sides of that 'Chip Kelly is racist' thing - NJ.com
"I think it's more of a cultural thing," Marshall said. "You've got some young guys from some rough places in the world. And Chip Kelly seems to be a coach that loves structure, and it has to be his way. And I really believe his way may be a winning way—so I'm on that side."
