The Philadelphia Eagles have signed another new wide receiver. According to an official release from the team, the Eagles have added Josh Reece to their roster. The 24-year-old Reece played college football at the University of Central Florida. He measures in at 6-0, 180 pounds. Reece racked up 101 receptions for 1,387 yards and nine touchdowns in 51 appearances with the Knights.
In order to make room for Reece at the wide receiver position, the Eagles released undrafted free agent rookie Devante Davis. Davis originally signed with the team following the 2015 NFL Draft. The team gave him a signing bonus worth $7,000. Davis failed to stand out in spring practices and training camp. BGN's Ben Natan was a big fan of Davis.
According to a report (and not yet officially confirmed by the team), the Eagles also waived/injured outside linebacker Travis Long, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury on Monday. Long will now pass through NFL waivers. If he goes unclaimed, the Eagles will put him on injured reserve.
With these moves, Philadelphia's roster is currently one player short of the 90-man limit. To be determined who the Eagles sign with the final spot.
