The Philadelphia Eagles have looked great in the 2015 NFL preseason. The Birds are 3-0 and they've outscored opponents 86 to 17 in the first half of those games. The hype is building, and the odds-makers have taken notice.
According to VegasInsider.com, the Eagles now have the fourth best odds to win Super Bowl 50. The Eagles' odds stand at 10/1, which is twice as good as the odds were back in early July at 20/1.
Only three teams rank ahead of the Eagles: the Seattle Seahawks (7/1), the Green Bay Packers (15/2), and the Indianapolis Colts (9/1). The Eagles moved ahead of teams such as the New England Patriots, the Denver Broncos, and the Dallas Cowboys.
With the Eagles now sitting back on top of the division, here's how the rest of the NFC East stacks up: the Cowboys are seventh at 17/1, the New York Giants are 21st at 65/1, and Washington ranks 30th at 125/1.
Earlier this offseason, I wrote how I wouldn't bet on the Eagles due to all the uncertainty surrounding the team. Now that I've gotten to watch them, however, I would say there's definitely reason to feel good about their chances. In practice and limited playing time in the preseason games, it's hard not to feel good about Sam Bradford's ability in this offense. The run game looks like it's going to be good. The defense has the chance to be pretty solid with the front seven still looking great and the secondary looking improved. Philadelphia's special team unit still looks dominant.
Get excited.
